    KEYNOTE SPEAKER
    Global Chief Operating Officer , Marsh Inc

    Bill Pieroni is Global Chief Operating Officer of Marsh Inc. He joined Marsh in September 2011 and is responsible for the firm's global operations, focused on continued deployment of differentiated value to clients and improving and expanding Marsh's capabilities. He has significant experience in the insurance industry and a proven track record in helping to facilitate improvements in a sustainable manner across a variety of organizations.
    Prior to joining Marsh, Bill was Senior Vice President and part of the Office of the Chairman at State Farm. Prior to that, he served as Aon's Senior Vice President and Global Chief Information Officer with global responsibility for operations across retail, wholesale and reinsurance brokerage. His extensive insurance and financial services background also includes General Manager of IBM's insurance business, a partner at Accenture, and consultant with McKinsey & Company.
    Mr. Pieroni received his Bachelor of Science in accounting with University Honors & Distinction from the University of Illinois and his M.B.A. with Highest Distinction, and named a Baker Scholar from Harvard University School of Business Administration.

  • ROBIN ARENDT

    Global CIO, XL Insurance

    Robin Arendt is a highly driven professional with 20 years' experience within the Insurance Industry. As XL Group's IT leader globally, her objective is to further advance XL's technology capabilities for her business partners to enable profitable growth. Prior to joining XL in 2010, Robin was CIO, North America Commercial, at Zurich (2007-2010); Vice President, Corporate Business Development, and Vice President, Information Technology, at Safeco (2004-2007). She was an Associate Partner at Accenture from 1993 to 2004. Robin graduated with Highest Distinction from University of Minnesota, St. Thomas, MN, BA in Business Management, Accounting and Finance.

  • Matt Josefowicz

    Managing Director, Novarica

    Matthew Josefowicz is a managing director at Novarica. He is a widely-published and often-cited expert on insurance and financial services technology, operations, and e-business issues who has presented his research and thought-leadership at numerous industry conferences. Over the past decade, he has worked directly with dozens of US and international CIOs to advise them on IT strategy and solution selection, and has written more than 100 reports on insurance technology issues. He is also the lead moderator of the Novarica Insurance Technology Research Council. Prior to launching the insurance practice at Novarica, he founded the global insurance group at analyst firm Celent and led it for more than six years. His other experience includes hedge fund D. E. Shaw & Co., LP. He holds a B.A. magna cum laude from Brown University.

  • Michael Anselmo

    CIO, Narragansett Bay Insurance Co.

    Michael transformed NBIC's enterprise technology platform by implementing Project APEX, a technical and operational competitive edge in the industry. Michael has more than 27 years of insurance industry experience in developing innovative IT solutions and teams that help drive business growth. Prior to joining Narragansett Bay Insurance Company, he was the CIO of Clarendon Insurance Group, Praetorian Financial Group and QBE Americas, and a member of both Hannover Re and QBE's CIO team that directed global strategies. Previously Michael was CTO and partner at a software company that developed the world's first open-cry auction system for the NASDAQ, worked with KPMG Insurance Consulting, American International Underwriters, American Re-Insurance and Munich Re-Insurance. Michael holds a degree in data processing from City University of New York. He also is on the executive board of Junior Achievement and holds two patents.

  • Peter E. Moreau

    Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer & CIO, Amica Mutual Insurance

    Peter is responsible for the oversight of the Corporate Information Systems department at Amica, including the planning, organization and control of the company's information processing operations and systems development.
    He has more than 28 years of information technology experience in the insurance industry. Peter works closely with the senior leadership team to establish a corporate strategy to support the company's mission, which is to create peace of mind and build enduring relationships.
    Peter holds a bachelor's degree and an MBA from Bryant University. He has also earned the insurance industry's Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) professional designation.

  • Michael Healy

    Executive Vice President & CIO, AXA Equitable

    Michael Healy is an executive director and chief information officer of AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company. He is responsible for the company's Information Technology function, directing all systems strategy and delivery, including infrastructure, application development, corporate architecture and electronic commerce. He is also a member of the company's executive management committee.
    Prior to his appointment as AXA Equitable's chief information officer in 2010, Mr. Healy served as chief operations officer, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of AXA Equitable's IT organization. These functions included Vendor Management, Audit & Compliance, Resource Management, Centers of Excellence development and implementation as well as Program Office responsibilities. In that role, he also led the team responsible for the successful 2009 appraisal of AXA Equitable as a Level III CMMI organization.
    Before joining AXA Equitable in 2006, Mr. Healy served as a senior vice president at Marsh & McLennan, where he led the global IT program office. He also previously served as a management consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, focused on defining IT strategy and implementing strategic projects for fortune 500 clients.
    Mr. Healy holds a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Business Administration from St. John's University.

  • KATHY BURGER

    Editorial Director, Insurance & Technology and Bank Systems & Technology

    Katherine Burger is Editorial Director of Insurance & Technology and Bank Systems & Technology, brands of the InformationWeek Financial Services group of UBM Tech and United Business Media.
    In addition to directing the editorial strategy of both multi-channel media brands, Kathy is charged with extending the brands through the creation and development of new products, editorial reports/research and live and online events. She also oversees the brands' daily e-mail newsletters, as well as the Web sites and related online offerings for I&T and BS&T (www.insurancetech.com, www.banktech.com,).
    Kathy is a frequent speaker/participant at industry/association/sponsored conferences and events, and also has presented at a number of technology company user group and sales events, as well as numerous Webcasts sponsored by leaders financial services technology companies. Kathy was a winner of a 2012 MIN Editorial Award for Opinion/Commentary.
    During Kathy's publishing and media career, in addition to financial services technology she also has covered the real estate and retailing industries. She is a graduate of Carleton College.

  • NATHAN GOLIA

    Senior Editor, Insurance & Technology

    Nathan Golia is senior editor of Insurance & Technology. He joined the publication in 2010 as associate editor and covers all aspects of the nexus between insurance and information technology, including mobility, distribution, core systems, customer interaction, and risk management. He is a frequent speaker and moderator at live and online events held by both I&T and third parties. Nathan is a veteran of the trade press who previously worked as a database marketing reporter and copy editor for Direct Marketing News, as well as an assistant editor for The Toy Book, before coming to I&T. He is a graduate of SUNY College at Buffalo and a proud Western New York native.
